The U.S. Department of Defense is secretly increasing arms shipments to Israel, sending more laser-guided missiles, shells and more.

What is known about the secret increase in U.S. aid to Israel

According to the newspaper's journalists, the Pentagon is sending Israel more laser-guided missiles for Apache attack helicopters, and Israel is getting more 155-mm shells, night vision devices, bunker-busting ammunition and new army vehicles.

The authors of the material emphasize that the arms supplies to Israel from the U.S. are far beyond the scope of the widely publicized deliveries of Iron Dome interceptors and Boeing Co. intelligent bombs.

At the same time, arms deliveries continue even against the backdrop of U.S. appeals to Israel to reduce civilian casualties in Gaza.

The journalists of the publication found a document according to which American weapons are either already being delivered to Israel or the Pentagon is working on making them available for delivery from warehouses in the USA and E.U. countries.

As of the end of October, all 36 thousand shells for 30 mm guns, 1.8 thousand M141 ammunition for destroying bunkers, and at least 3.5 thousand night vision devices were delivered.

What they say in the Pentagon

A Pentagon spokesman declined to discuss details, but the Defense Department said in a statement that it is "using multiple avenues — from domestic actions to U.S. industrial channels — to provide Israel with the means to defend itself."

This security assistance is said to continue to arrive almost daily.

The supply of artillery shells and other munitions has drawn criticism from non-governmental organizations, which say the U.S. supplies have allowed Israel to continue a bombing campaign that has led to heavy casualties in the Gaza Strip.
