Navalny's mother appealed to Putin to hand over the body of her son, whom she had not seen for five days. Navalny's death in the correctional colony became known on February 16.

Navalny's body has not yet been released

Alexei Navalny's mother appealed to Vladimir Putin to hand over her son's body to her. She notes that she still does not know where the body is.

On the fifth day, I cannot see him [son], they do not give me his body, and they do not even tell me where he is. I am addressing you, Vladimir Putin. The decision depends only on you. Let me see my son. I demand to hand over Alexei's body immediately, so that I can bury him in a humane way, says Lyudmila Navalnaya.

What is known about the disappearance of Navalny's body

According to the newspaper's journalists, Navalny's body was supposed to arrive at the only morgue in Salekhard, located near the colony where the Kremlin-imprisoned opposition politician died.

Meanwhile, Navalny's press secretary, Kira Yarmysh, confirmed the politician's death to journalists, referring to the official notification sent to Navalny's mother, Lyudmila, and demanded that his body be immediately handed over to his family.

According to Yarmysh, Navalny's other lawyer, who came to Salekhard, was informed that "the cause of Alexei's death has not been established, a repeated histological examination was taken."

Her results are supposed to be next week. It is obvious that they are lying and doing everything not to reveal the body, — the representative of the opposition politician suggests.

In turn, Ivan Zhdanov, the director of the "Fund for Combating Corruption" founded by Navalny, also wrote about it, saying that "the colony cheated."

They said that the body is in the Salekhard morgue. They say there is no body. ... Everything about the "thrombus" turned out to be a lie, as expected. The body is not released, as the cause of death has not been established, Zhdanov says.
