On December 18, Polish truckers resumed the Yagodyn — Dorogusk checkpoint blockade on the Ukraine border. Polish farmers will join them.
New protest at the "Yagodyn — Dorogusk" railway station
The organizer of the Polish strikers from the far-right Ruch Narodowy party, Rafal Mekler, said that farmers from the "United Village" organization will join the blockade of the border. The promotion will start at 12:30 Kyiv time.
Demands of Polish farmers:
ban on importing sugar from Ukraine;
immediate payment of direct subsidies;
preservation of fuel excise tax compensation;
compensation to corn producers.
Blockade of checkpoints on the Ukrainian border
Over 2,000 Ukrainian trucks are currently in the queue at the Yagodyn-Dorogusk railway station.
One of the protest leaders, Pavel Ozygala, confirmed to RMF FM that the new action may last until March 8.
The District Court in Lublin allowed the protesters to resume the action after the local authorities forbade it.
On December 16, a truck driver died while standing in line at the Krakow-Korchova border checkpoint. The driver was taken by an ambulance, and he died on the way to the hospital.
Before that, two more drivers died in the queues - in front of the "Dorogusk-Yagodyn" and "Korchova" checkpoints.
On December 11, the blockade that lasted over a month was lifted through the "Yagodyn - Dorogusk" checkpoint.
The blockade of the Ukraine border began on November 6.
