It is noted that the explosions in the city occurred after 15:00 in the territory of the Budyonivskyi and Leninskyi districts.

According to local residents, there is black smoke in the Budyonivskyi district. It can be seen from different points of the city.

The causes of the fire and where it started are still unknown.

But according to the footage published on social media, it can be concluded that the fire is quite large-scale.

What is happening in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions

According to representatives of the occupying Russian administration and Kremlin and propaganda sources, a car carrying the so-called "former councillor of the People's Council of the LPR" Oleg Popov was blown up in Luhansk.

As a result of the explosion, the representative of the occupation authorities did not survive.

The Kremlin media claim that a car caught fire in the center of Luhansk near the Avangard stadium. Firefighters arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire, the reasons and details of what happened are being clarified.

The Russian news agency did not specify whether anyone was injured in the explosion.

Anonymous Russian Telegram channels claim that the car was blown up, and Oleg Popov was in the car. It is reported that he was injured.

Collaborator Volodymyr Rogov also claims that Popov was injured. He claims that "the councillor was blown up".

Later, the Kremlin media reported that in September last year, Russian propagandists also spread information about the alleged death of Popov. Some Ukrainian Telegram channels claimed that he had been eliminated by the Russian special services.

As early as February 2023, Russian mass media "found out" that an assassination attempt had allegedly been organized against him. After the "unsuccessful attempt", Popov disappeared, and, according to the Russian media, "the game of the Russian special services" began.

It was claimed that the SSU employees actually ordered the murder.

In February, the occupying authorities of the Luhansk Region informed Russian journalists that Popov had "started exercising the powers of a councillor".
