According to the US State Department team, the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has still not been able to gain an advantage in the war against Ukraine, even against the background of the capture of Avdiivka.

Russia's war against Ukraine. Putin still has no advantages on the battlefield

The speaker of the US State Department, Matthew Miller, made the statement on this occasion.

Reporters asked him if Joe Biden's team believes Russia now has an advantage on the battlefield.

We don't think so at all, he answered.

The representative of the State Department does not deny the fact that the Russian army was able to capture Avdiivka.

However, what is important to understand is that this happened because the Ukrainian authorities "failed to adequately arm their troops" mostly due to the refusal of Congress to continue supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine in their war against the Russian Federation.

But Ukraine has had significant successes on the battlefield, especially in the Black Sea, where the Russian fleet was pushed back, and a new shipping corridor was opened, allowing the export of wheat and other grains and industrial goods.

The American diplomat pointed out that this was impossible for Ukraine in the first days of a full-scale invasion when Russia blocked Ukrainian ports.

So we believe that they (the Ukrainian side — ed.) will continue to make progress. And we will continue to support them to the best of our ability. We need a partner in Congress to help make that happen, Miller added.

The Pentagon commented on AFU's withdrawal from Avdiivka

According to the US Secretary of Defence team, the departure of Ukrainian defenders from Avdiivka was "strategic".

The AFU fighters did this to preserve their artillery and shells, which were critically lacking against the background of problems with providing aid from the States.

The Pentagon also officially confirmed that they have the ability to ensure the provision of new aid packages to Ukraine in a short period of time immediately after the US Congress passes the relevant draft law.
