Russia claims three militaries were injured after attack on Russia's airbase in occupied Crimea

On Mar. 1, the Russian air base near Gvardeyskoe in occupied Crimea was attacked with two missiles. According to the Russians, several soldiers were wounded.

It noted the "Gvardeyskoe" air base was attacked with missiles, and three servicemen were wounded.

According to the Telegram channel, two "unidentified missiles" allegedly fell on the territory of the "Gvardeyskoe" airbase (military unit 46451) around 4:00 p.m. on Mar. 1.

Both missiles exploded. The airport taxiway was damaged. Three servicemen were injured, the report says.

What is known about the "Gvardeyskoe" air base in occupied Crimea

According to Radio Svoboda, the 37th mixed aviation regiment of the Russian Air Force, consisting of two Su-24M and Su-25SM squadrons — 12 machines each — is based at the "Gvardeyskoe" air base.

On Aug. 16, 2022, explosions also occurred near the airbase. The explosion also occurred on Mar. 29, 2023. Then the occupiers announced the alleged "activation of anti-aircraft warfare system's defence". Two more explosions were recorded on Aug. 2, 2023.

The partisans made sorties on this airbase several times. For example, at the beginning of Oct. 2023, partisans made their way to the "Gvardeyskoe" airfield, where they found several air defence systems.
