The Russian military continues to use chemical attacks against the Ukrainian army.

The AFU Support Forces Command Public Relations Service reports on Facebook on Mar.4.

Mobile groups and other units of the group of forces and means of support recorded 1,068 facts of the use by the Russian Federation of tear gas irritants, which are equipped with poisonous chemical substances prohibited for waging war (combat operations) by paragraph 5 of Article 1 of the Chemical Weapons Convention.

In February 2024 alone, 250 cases were recorded (244 cases of VOG use, one case of gas use, and five cases of other chemical ammunition use).

CBRN reconnaissance units take soil, vegetation, and ammunition fragment samples and send them for analysis.

As part of open criminal proceedings, documented cases of the use of dangerous chemicals are submitted to investigative bodies for investigation.

The OSTG "Tavria" spokesman, Cart. Dmytro Lykhovii, said on the telethon air on Mar. 3 that during the past day, the enemy had carried out a total of 43 combat clashes, a certain decrease.

Also, the Russians carried out 950 shellings, in particular, this number included nine simultaneous releases of chemical substances in tear gas grenades from drones. This is a violation of the convention on the use of chemical weapons.

He explained that "the tool dropped by the Russians is similar to the one used by the police to disperse rallies."

The spokesman added, "The occupiers are not using this substance at the front for the first time."

We have nine resets per day at once. Almost all of them are in the Zaporizhia region in the Zaporizhzhia direction, says AFU captain.
