According to the ISW team, Russia intends to start serial production of advanced guided aerial bombs, as well as scale their use along the entire front line in Ukraine.

Russia is intensifying air bomb attacks on the Ukrainian front

Recently, the AFU soldiers reported that the Russian army began to attack Ukraine with the help of advanced aerial bombs.

Thus, according to the OSTG Tavria speaker, Captain Dmytro Lykhovii, on March 10, the Russian occupiers struck Myrnograd in the Donetsk region with three universal interspecies glider munitions (UMPB D-30SN), which, according to the preliminary assessment of the Ukrainian prosecutor's office, were S-300 missiles.

Lykhovi points out that the improved UMPB D-30SN guided aerial bombs are, in fact, a converted version of the guided aerial bombs of the Soviet era.

The Russian army previously used unguided glider bombs as early as January 2024.

Russia may start serial production of aerial bombs

Moreover, American analysts have recently noted that the Russian invaders have begun to strike with aerial bombs of UMPB-type, as opposed to using unguided glider bombs with unified planning and correction modules (UMPC), in some areas of Ukraine.

Russian military officials claim that Russian soldiers have the ability to launch guided UMPB glide bombs from aircraft and ground-based multiple rocket launchers (MSRPs), such as Tornado-S and Smerch.

According to American analysts, the Russian authorities may very well try to start mass production of UMPB guided air bombs and expand their use on the entire front line.
