The Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) warns that the information about the alleged permission for border guards to open fire on "fugitives" from Ukraine is fake.

New Russian fake news about SBGS

The CCD notes that Russian Telegram channels spread information that "Ukrainian border guards were allowed to open fire and use FPV drones on those trying to escape from Ukraine."

As proof, the propagandists distribute a photo showing a banner with the relevant content.

After verifying the information with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS), the CCD informs that the message and photo distributed by the Russians are another fake, intended to intimidate the country's population and discredit the border guards.

Ukrainian border guards operate exclusively within the limits of current legislation, and they use weapons and FPV drones exclusively against the invaders, which they could feel in the first days of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

What other fakes does Russia spread?

Earlier, Russian Telegram channels spread information that 119 Separate Brigade of Territorial Defence Forces (SBTDF) in Chernihiv region allegedly mobilised homeless people.

CCD informs that this is another injection of enemy propaganda since mobilisation is within the competence of the Territorial Recruiting Centres, not the brigade command.

The Russians also spread another fake about this brigade — in particular, about the recruitment of "girls aged 16 to 30, who will be used in advanced positions" for the brigade.

Also, the enemy spread misinformation that the commander of the 113th SBTDF was allegedly preparing pensioners for the defence of Kharkiv in the role of "human shields".
