Russians spreads fake news about Kharkiv's retreat and incites enmity in Zakarpattia: details

According to analysts from the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD), Kremlin propaganda is actively spreading fakes about Ukraine's alleged preparation for the surrender of Kharkiv.

What is known about the spread of lies by Russian propagandists about the alleged Kharkiv surrender

Analysts note that Russian propaganda Telegram channels are actively spreading information about the alleged preparation of Kharkiv authorities to flee the city.

In particular, Russian propagandists falsely claim that this is allegedly evidenced by the allocation of funds to repair the western exit from the settlement — roads in the Lubotyn and Korotych area.

Reports about the alleged "escape" of the city administration from Kharkiv do not correspond to reality and are an informational and psychological operation of the enemy, which aims to demoralize the society and sow panic, the CCD emphasises.

Analysts note that the DIU deputy chief, Gen Vadym Skibitskyi, earlier emphasised that the Russian occupying army lacks the forces and means to carry out an offensive in the direction of Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv and Kyiv.

At the same time, the AFU Land Forces Command spokesman, Volodymyr Fityo, reported that the northern border is constantly being strengthened, and the number of enemy troops there is being monitored.

What is known about Russian propagandists inciting enmity in Zakarpattia

CCD analysts also note that fake messages in the Hungarian language with threats and calls to "get out of Ukraine" began to be received by the number of ethnic Hungarians living in Zakarpattia.

However, analysts note that these messages are another PsyOp of Kremlin propaganda.

The messages allegedly come from Ukrainian nationalists, but the accounts from which they are sent have the codes of mobile operators of Kazakhstan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kyrgyzstan.

Such actions are carried out to provoke inter-ethnic enmity between Ukrainians and Hungarians.

Realizing that Ukrainian strength is the unity of the people, Russia seeks to divide Ukrainian society, analysts explain.

The Center urges citizens, in case of receiving such messages, to block the contact from which the SMS was sent and to contact the Cyber Police.
