According to Russian analysts, the Novatek plant can resume work in a few months, or in the best case, weeks, after a powerful attack by the drones launched by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU).
Russian Novatek needs time to recover after the SSU attack
The news agency "Reuters" decided to talk with analysts of the Moscow brokerage company BCS, who assessed the consequences of the attack on Ukraine.
They think the energy company "Novatek" can resume large-scale operations at its processing complex in Ust-Luga and the terminal in the Baltic Sea within several months.
However, if no new attacks and favourable conditions exist, it will be weeks.
We believe the plant will most likely return to significant capacity within weeks or, at worst, months, Moscow-based brokerage BCS told reporters.
According to Russian propagandists, two storage tanks and a pumping station were damaged by the SSU drone attack.
Also, the plant management has not yet commented on Ukraine's potent attack.
Interestingly, the investment bank "Sinara" representatives have already calculated that a quarter of Novatek's revenues may suffer due to this incident.
Ukrainian independent expert assessed the effectiveness of Ukraine's attack on Novatek
Ukrainian expert on international energy and security relations and president of the Center for Global Studies "Strategy XXI" Mykhailo Gonchar also commented on this matter.
He notes that "Novatek" is a complex for fractionation and transhipment of stable gas condensate, which allows the processing of stable gas condensate into light and heavy oil, diesel fraction and a component of marine fuel, and shipping finished products for export by sea transport.
According to Mykhailo Gonchar, the Ukrainian forces approached the implementation of the task very professionally — from the analysis to the final result. They reached a completely different level of professionalism.
In addition, a component of the production cycle of Mikhelson and Timchenko Putin's henchmen terminal was seriously damaged.
There are a lot of tanks at the facility, but they will not fill themselves without a technological installation. Hitting the tank would be more spectacular, but it will not cause such problems as in the case of damage/destruction of a technical installation, where part of the equipment is European, purchased before total sanctions.
The Russian Federation will have to spend much money and time on repair work.
