The shelling of Sumy region by the criminal army of Russia caused a large-scale fire in one of the residential areas and led to significant destruction.

What is known about consequences of shelling in Sumy region by Russian army

According to representatives of the State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine, the shelling caused a large-scale fire in the residential sector, and the building of a local cultural centre caught fire.

A large-scale fire caused by Russian shelling has been extinguished in the Sumy region. The fire broke out the night before in the residential sector as a result of enemy shelling of one of the settlements in the Sumy district, the rescuers said in a statement.

According to the State Emergency Service, the shock wave damaged private homes, including numerous apartment blocks.

A house of culture and a residential building of civilians burned down. The fire was extinguished, which prevented the fire from spreading to the homes of the local population, the SES representatives emphasise.

What is known about consequences of invaders' attacks in other regions of Ukraine

In Donetsk region , on January 9, as a result of enemy shelling, two civilians were wounded in Avdiivka and New York.

During the day, two more people were injured due to shelling by the Russian invaders in the Kherson region.

It is noted that 73 enemy shellings using 374 shells from mortars, artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, tanks and UAVs were recorded in the region during the day.

One hit was also made by a ballistic missile.

At least 11 shells were fired by the Kremlin invaders at Kherson.

The targets of the Russian war criminals were residential areas of the region's settlements; critical infrastructure facilities in Kherson and Kherson districts; a banking institution, a factory, an educational institution and an administrative building in Kherson.

In the Zaporizhzhia region, there were no casualties during the day, but 102 strikes in 19 settlements were recorded.

In particular, 43 enemy UAVs attacked Hulyaipole, Mala Tokmachka, Novodarivka, Chervone, Hulyaipilske, Robotyne, Novoandriivka, Poltavka, Levadne, Malynivka, and Pyatykhatky.

No less than 53 artillery shells were recorded on the territory of Zaliznyche, Robotyne, Novodanylivka, Levadne, Charivne, Stepove, Mali Shcherbaky, Kamyanske, Pyatykhatky, Bilenke, as well as other towns and villages on the line of fire.

9 reports were received about the destruction of residential buildings.

In the Dnipropetrovsk region, the enemy attacked the town of Nikopol using UAVs with night vision devices.

The shelling in Nikopol damaged 2 private houses, an outbuilding and a power line.

In the Kharkiv region, as a result of hostile shelling, power line poles were damaged in the village of Slobozhanske.

The building of the village council, windows, roof, fence, walls and adjacent premises were damaged during repeated hostile shelling of the settlement.

Late in the evening of 9 December, Russian war criminals fired 2 S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles at Kharkiv from the Belgorod region.

The children's health centre was damaged. The medical building and the canteen were destroyed, and the territory of the centre was damaged. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

During the day, the occupiers attacked more than 17 settlements in the region: Udy, Vesele, Slobozhanske in the Kharkiv district; Vovchansk, Mala Vovcha in the Chuhuiv district; Kupyansk, Ivanivka in the Kupyansk district.

Air strikes were recorded in Vesele, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka, Tabaivka, Pishchane, Berestove in the Kupyansk district.
