A Russian occupier who shot two civilians in the back near the village of Mriya in the Kyiv region, has sentenced to life imprisonment by a Ukrainian court.

The Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office has officially confirmed that a court has found a senior lieutenant of the 5th Separate Guards Tank Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces guilty of violating the laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder.
He was sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment.
According to the Ukrainian Prosecutor's Office, the crime occurred at a car dealership near the village of Mriya in the Bucha district.
Ukrainian prosecutors said the double murder occurred after five Russian servicemen arrived at the dealership in a in March 2022.
The peaceful Ukrainian citizens died on the spot. The suspects left the scene in their car bearing letter "V" and the inscription "Tank special forces RUS".

The prosecutor's office also draws attention to the fact that the Russian invaders then broke into the car dealership and stole valuables, loading the stolen goods into their car.
The prosecutor's office notes that the materials on other persons involved in the crime have been separated into separate criminal proceedings.
