Law enforcement officers eliminated the FSB agent group, which was engaged in the preparation of a missile attack on the energy infrastructure of the Lviv region.

Spouses of Russian agents were detained in the Lviv region

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) reports that among the main targets of the Russians were power plants that provide electricity to most of the region.

The Russian secret service involved a local couple to carry out the enemy's task.

The main suspect was a man who has been serving a sentence in a local prison since 2023 for inflicting grievous bodily harm.

He came to the attention of Russians due to the spread of posts on social networks in support of the Russian armed aggression against Ukraine.

FSB employees established contact with him and recruited the man remotely.

In an anonymous chat, the prisoner received agent tasks and step-by-step instructions for their implementation. The FSB agent involved his wife in cooperation with the enemy.

At his request, the woman had to find the "necessary" energy objects and shoot them with reference to the area.

The Russians promised the couple a "reward", and if they received intelligence, they planned to use it to launch missile strikes.

What threatens the spouses of FSB agents?

Law enforcement officers searched the Russian agent's cell, where they seized the mobile phone he used to communicate with the FSB.

So far, the SSU investigators have notified the detainee of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:

  • Chapter 2 of Art. 111 (treason committed under martial law);

  • Chapters 2 and 3 of Art. 436-2 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

He faces life imprisonment. It is also planned to report suspicion of treason to the woman involved.
