The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine worked effectively in the south of Ukraine on the night of January 8. All 8 attack drones that the Russian Federation sent to this region of the country were eliminated.

The Air Force destroyed the drones launched by the Russian Federation in the south of Ukraine

On the night of January 8, all eight kamikaze drones were shot down over the southern regions of Ukraine. However, a fire broke out in the Odesa district due to debris.

The Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine reported this info on Telegram.

The Southern Defense Forces report that during the night, their air defence units shot down all eight enemy drones of the Shahed-131/136 type, which the Russians directed from the Black Sea to Odesa and Mykolaiv regions.

7 drones were destroyed by defenders of the sky from the Air Command "South", a group of various forces of the Navy and the Air Force of other components of the Defense Forces precisely in Odesa Region, another 1 — in Mykolaiv Region.

The debris of one of the downed drones fell on an open area of the Odesa district, causing a fire. The fire was quickly extinguished. There were no damages or injuries.

Air defence forces announced the results of their work

According to the military, on the night of January 7, the occupiers attacked with 28 Shahed-136/131 attack UAVs from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk region of the Russian Federation and three S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles from the occupied Donetsk region.

The main directions of impact are south and east.

The Air Force notes that the forces and means of Ukraine's Air Force and Defense Forces destroyed 21 enemy kamikaze drones.

Anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups are involved in repelling the air attack.

Air defence worked within Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Vinnytsia and Cherkasy regions.
