The department thanked the European Council, the European Parliament and the European Commission for this gesture of support.

On February 24, many Western leaders arrived in Kyiv

In the morning, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, arrived in the Ukrainian capital to once again support the Ukrainian people against the background of their war with the Russian invaders.

I am in Kyiv to mark the second anniversary of Russia's war against Ukraine and the exceptional resistance of the Ukrainian people, von der Leyen emphasized.

The prime ministers of Italy, Canada and Belgium also arrived in Kyiv.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Belgian Prime Minister Alexander de Croo and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Maloni decided to support the Ukrainian people with a personal visit.

In addition, it later became known about the arrival of the former British leader Boris Johnson.

I have no doubt that the Ukrainians with their indomitable courage will defeat and drive out Putin's forces - provided we provide them with the necessary military, political and economic support, he said.
