The District Prosecutor's Office of Chelm in the Lublin Voivodeship has started investigating why grain was scattered from Ukrainian trucks before moving to Dorohusk.

Polish Prosecutor's Office reacted to the case of sсattered Ukrainian grain

The investigation has been launched in two areas — destruction of property and violation of customs security. Procedural actions are ongoing in the case. We are interviewing witnesses, providing monitoring and documentation from these three trucks, Kempka emphasised.

The district prosecutor's office in Helm is conducting the investigation. The committed actions are punishable by up to five years in prison.

What is happening on the Polish-Ukrainian border

It is noted that Polish farmers in the area of the Dorogusk — Yagodyn checkpoint attacked trucks with Ukrainian grain, damaged the trucks and dumped the grain directly on the road.

According to Ukrainian drivers, Polish farmers scattered grain using angle grinders and compartments.

They took the angle grinder on a battery. And they just wanted to cut the hatch. They broke the seal. And they poured wheat. From each self-propelled vehicle, at least three tons, for sure, spilled out somewhere, — say eyewitnesses.

At the same time, when asked by Ukrainian transport drivers why Polish farmers attack trucks and damage grain, they answered with rude insults and threats.

The drivers of the damaged cars immediately called the police. Although the culprits were even caught on video, the police did not act.

Currently, 650 vans are waiting in line in front of the checkpoint. Poles register several cars per hour for departure to Ukraine. Instead, the Poles do not allow trucks to enter Poland.
