The Russian authorities claim the destruction of the missile over the Belgorod region

On the morning of January 8, the Ministry of Defense of Russia released information that its air defence system was allegedly able to shoot down a Ukrainian missile over the Belgorod region.

Russia again complains about Ukraine's missile attacks

The team of the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Sergei Shoigu, claims that the attack of Ukraine on the Belgorod region took place on the morning of January 8

At 07:00 a.m., an attempted terrorist attack by the Kyiv regime using an S-200 anti-aircraft missile converted to hit ground targets against objects on the territory of the Russian Federation was stopped, the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.

In addition, it is noted that allegedly, "a Ukrainian missile was intercepted over the territory of the Belgorod region by regular means of air defence."

What is known about the DIU raid in the Belgorod region

The head of Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), Kyrylo Budanov, officially confirmed that his fighters, during a special operation in the territory of the Belgorod region, were able to inflict significant losses on the personnel of the Russian army. In particular, one of the severely wounded was a "significant person".

Without disclosing the details, I can say that one of the seriously wounded was quite an iconic person. Immediately (the Russians — ed.) they invited a helicopter to evacuate him right on the spot, the DIU chief said.

However, Kyrylo Budanov did not want to share other details of the special operation of Ukrainian intelligence officers, pointing out that it is typical for his team.

Again, I return to what I said — we have an open war, and there is nothing to be surprised about. He who brings war to others, sooner or later receives it from himself. What, after all, is happening, the head of Ukrainian intelligence noted.
