US Department of Defense
Lloyd Austin

The Ministry of Defense of the USA states that the head of the Pentagon, Lloyd Austin, during his visit to Kyiv on November 20, plans to discuss the provision of the Armed Forces during the winter period.

What Austin will talk about with the Ukrainian authorities

Official Washington confirms that during his visit to Kyiv, Lloyd Austin plans to hold high-level talks with the head of state Volodymyr Zelenskyi's team.

The head of the Pentagon wants to remind official Kyiv about the commitment of the US to provide Ukraine with the security assistance necessary to protect it from Russian aggression, and will also discuss the long-term vision of the future of the Armed Forces.

The discussions will focus on further strengthening the strategic partnership between the United States and Ukraine, including providing the Ukrainian armed forces with the necessary combat capabilities both for the winter period and to protect their country from future Russian threats, the US Department of Defense said.

In addition, it is emphasized that soon Lloyd Austin intends to hold the 17th virtual meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine from the Pentagon.

As the head of the Ministry of Defense of the United States comments on his visit to Ukraine

On the morning of November 20, it became clear that the head of the American Defense Department, Lloyd Austin, had arrived in Kyiv.

The head of the Pentagon also published a photo showing him at the Central Kyiv railway station.

Today I am here to convey an important message — the United States will continue to support Ukraine in its struggle for freedom against Russian aggression, both now and in the future, Lloyd Austin said in a message.

It is worth noting that his visits to Ukraine took place against the background of the statement that Washington is running out of funds for aid to our country.
