Iranian ballistic missiles

The US believes that Iran is preparing to supply Russia with its ballistic missiles for use in the criminal war waged against Ukraine.

What is known about Iran's intentions to transfer ballistic missiles to Russia

According to the journalists of the publication, concerning American officials, we are talking about short-range missiles.

The interlocutors noted that the White House was concerned about the Ababil and Fateh-110 missiles demonstrated by Iran during the visit of the head of the Russian Defense Ministry, Sergei Shoigu, to Tehran in September this year.

According to the spokesman of the US National Security Council at the White House, John Kirby, the authorities of Iran are considering the possible transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia for their use in the war against Ukraine.

The US also believes Iran is becoming an increasingly important partner of the Russian Federation while benefiting from this relationship.

According to a spokesman for the US National Security Council, Russia is helping Iran improve its satellite assembly capabilities and providing the country with missiles, air defence systems and military electronics.

What is known about the saving of missiles by the Russian army in the war against Ukraine

According to the intelligence representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain, recently, the criminal army of the Russian Federation has been using mainly Iranian attack UAVs of the "Shahed" type for attacks on Ukraine, trying to weaken Ukrainian air defence.

Analysts in British intelligence concluded that in this way, the criminal army of the Russian Federation is accumulating reserves of missiles for attacks on Ukraine in the winter.

From November 18 to 19, 2023, Russia launched about 50 Shahed uncrewed aerial vehicles of Iranian development, mainly in the direction of Kyiv. They were found in waves in two directions - from Kursk to the east and from Krasnodar to the southeast.

According to British intelligence, one of Russia's aims was likely to weaken Ukraine's air defences to create a battlespace ahead of any concerted winter campaign of strikes against Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

Russia has refrained from launching its best air-launched cruise missiles from its fleet of heavy bombers for nearly two months, likely allowing it to build up a significant stockpile of these weapons. Russia will most likely use these missiles if it repeats last year's attempt to destroy Ukraine's most important national infrastructure, the British Ministry of Defense said in a summary.
