According to Julian Röpke, a military analyst of the German edition of Bild, Ukraine has been using unmanned aerial vehicles in the criminal war unleashed by Russia for more than a year to hit targets, scout and move forward through enemy minefields.

What is known about the latest AFU tactics, which broke the plans of Russia's army

The publication's analyst notes that the effectiveness of using UAVs as a strike force has already surpassed the former power of mortars and artillery weapons.

In addition, the Ukrainian military also effectively uses maritime drones and land robots to perform various combat tasks.

In particular, remote-controlled unmanned antimine trawls create holes in enemy minefields, and other robotic equipment pulls a hose that causes mines to detonate.

What is known about the latest tactics of involving robotics in combat missions

At the same time, the Armed Forces use ground drones to mine their own borders. A small crawler robot lays Soviet TM-62 mines.

Recently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine tested a small combat ground drone "Armadillo" near Bakhmut.

This is an American M2 machine gun mounted on a wheeled platform with a remote control.

Land-based kamikaze drones are also used.

Recently, one of them penetrated 4 km deep into the positions of the Russian Armed Forces near Avdiivka and exploded under a railway bridge.

The use of kamikaze ground drones is a completely new phenomenon. So they can penetrate deep into enemy territory, explode and eliminate the position. Protecting soldiers is an equally important mission of robots. The increasingly widespread use of flying and ground drones in Ukraine shows what the battlefield may look like in the future, the analyst notes.
