Ukraine's Deputy Minister: Polish farmers realized that their protest was being used by Russian special services

Taras Kachka

The Ministry of Economy of Ukraine said that the Polish farmers blocking the checkpoints on the border with Ukraine have already realized that their protest is being used by the Russian special services.

Russia takes advantage of Polish protests

Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine Taras Kachka commented on the state of negotiations with Poland regarding blocking the border during the telethon.

The good thing is that the farmers realized that their protests are being used by radical politicians and Russian special services, who are trying to create the impression of inter-ethnic enmity between Ukrainians and Poles.

He added that the leaders of the protests admitted that they were being used and noted that the Polish government was already investigating these incidents.

Kachka explained that thanks to the negotiations of Ukrainian diplomats with the Polish government, the farmers' demands are becoming more rational.

The Polish government was able to convince farmers that in products such as wheat, they compete not with Ukrainian, but with Russian. And not on the territory of Poland, but in the region.

The representative of the Ministry of Economy also noted that the border blockade harms Poland more than Ukraine.

Blocking the border of Ukraine

Since February 9, Polish farmers have been blocking checkpoints on the border of Ukraine for the passage of trucks.

These are the checkpoints: "Dorogusk — Yagodin", "Grebenne — Rava-Ruska", "Medyka — Sheghini", "Zosyn — Ustylug", "Dolgobichuv — Ughrynov", "Korchova — Krakowiec".

They demand to ban the import of Ukrainian agricultural products and for Poland to abandon the European Green Deal.

During this time, they dumped Ukrainian crops 5 times from freight cars onto the tracks or from trucks onto the roads.

Since March 1, the Sheghini checkpoint has been completely blocked.
