The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) is putting into circulation a commemorative coin, "Love", for St. Valentine's Day.
What is known about the new commemorative coin "Love"
The new commemorative coin, "Love", with a denomination of five hryvnias, is nickel silver. On its obverse is a stylised rose in the shape of a heart, the petals of which are the words "Love" written in the world's most common languages.
It symbolises that this feeling has neither borders nor language barriers. On the reverse is a heart from which waves diverge.
Coins will be sold in the NBU online store starting February 14, and later, they will be sold by distributor banks. The circulation of the coin is up to 50,000 pieces.
What is known about NBU commemorative coins
On October 27, the National Bank issued a commemorative coin for the Day of Ukrainian Writing. It is made of silver, has a denomination of 10 hryvnias and a circulation of up to 5 thousand pieces.
Before that, the NBU issued a coin dedicated to military intelligence. Its denomination is 5 hryvnias.
On August 24, the National Bank presented a new commemorative coin "The courage to be. UA". It was dedicated to Independence Day.
On August 4, the National Bank presented a new commemorative coin, "PPO [Ukraine's Air Defence abbreviation — Ed.] — a reliable shield of Ukraine." On it is an image of the Patriot air defence system. It was dedicated to "feats and heroism of the soldiers of the Air Defence Forces."
The National Bank issued a coin dedicated to the Armed Forces Support Forces in May. Its denomination is 10 hryvnias.
