In Ukraine, the post of cyber diplomat can be created. This is due to the rapid development of technologies in the world.
Danilov announced the appearance of the post of cyber diplomat in Ukraine
According to an online.ua correspondent, Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council (NSDC), told journalists during the Kyiv International Cyber Resilience Forum 2024.
He noted that Ukraine "has moved into total digitalisation, which must now be protected, and now there is a great movement in this direction in the world, and many states already have cyber diplomats."
Many countries are actively recruiting cyber diplomats. In our country, a new position — cyber diplomat — will probably appear soon since this is becoming an important direction in the field of struggle.

What is cyber diplomacy?
It is important to note that for the first time, digital diplomacy in Ukraine is mentioned as part of the public diplomacy strategy, which was adopted in 2021 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Then, the so-called "communication dimension" was discussed.
Cyber diplomacy is a direction of public diplomacy that involves using digital technologies and platforms and interacting with them to protect the country's national interests.
These interests are usually expressed in national cyberspace or cyber security strategies. Cyber diplomacy includes cyber security, cyber crime, confidence building, internet freedom and internet governance.
The Public Diplomacy Strategy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine for 2021-25 stated that the dimensions of the work of public diplomacy subjects in the field of digital diplomacy (cyber diplomacy) are:
interaction with international digital platforms to promote a positive image of Ukraine in the world and protect national security;
the use of digital tools for the organisation of public diplomacy events and projects;
Using the potential of social networks and interaction with online communities to form a positive image of Ukraine and promote Ukraine's interests worldwide.
In the implementation of this direction, close coordination and cooperation with representatives of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, international digital platforms, in particular Facebook, Google, Netflix, HBO and others, is expected for the implementation of digital projects and campaigns to popularize Ukraine in the world.
It will be recalled that in July 2023, at a meeting of the National Coordination Center for Cyber Security (NCCC), a decision was made to create a plan of activities in the field of cyber diplomacy by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and for communication with international partners.
