Thus, today the parliamentarians adopted draft law No. 10456 on the extension of martial law, as well as No. 10457 on the extension of the period of general mobilization. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy introduced them to the Council the day before.

This special regime has been extended for the tenth time since the beginning of the full-scale war.

In particular, 335 parliamentarians supported the decision to extend martial law. 323 MPs voted for the continuation of mobilisation.

Next is the promulgation by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

What is known about the new bill on mobilisation

Currently, the Ukrainian authorities are working on changes in mobilisation. After the withdrawal of the first draft law due to several comments, the government submitted an updated draft to the parliament, which contains some changes:

  1. The document clearly outlines the methods of influencing citizens who do not fulfil their mobilisation training and preparation responsibilities. It is about blocking bank accounts and bringing citizens to court.

  2. Ukrainians will start receiving news through the electronic cabinet.

  3. In Ukraine, they can cancel the fixed-term service. It will be replaced by basic military training. In addition, there will also be mandatory military training after mobilisation for two to three months.

  4. In addition, the document contains a proposal to reduce the military age of citizens from 27 to 25 years. Now, men will become conscripts from age 25, and from 18 to 25, they will be considered conscripts voluntarily.
