Ukraine's spy general: Ukraine can't afford a blind defence

According to the deputy head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), Major General Vadym Skibitskyi, Ukraine cannot afford a blind defence in the criminal war unleashed by the Russian Federation, waiting for the Russian occupiers to prepare for offensives in new directions.

Why the strategy of blind defence in war is not effective

Speaking during one of the panel discussions on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Skibitsky emphasised that Ukrainian military intelligence at the tactical level expects the continuation of active hostilities.

No one is talking about a halt, let alone a ceasefire. Any ceasefire of the Russian Federation will be used to improve the tactical position and acquire greater capacity to resume or open new directions of hostilities, the DIU representative said.

According to him, hostilities will continue even in difficult weather conditions.

We simply cannot lose our territory due to inaction, Skibitskyi explains.

How does the strategy of blind defence threaten Ukraine?

The DIU representative emphasized that the Russian occupiers against Ukraine will use the so-called "freezing" of hostilities, as the enemy very quickly learns from its own and others' mistakes.

In such a case, if we even go into blind defense, as many say, and start developing our military defense system, the enemy will not stop. We must develop everything: both air defense and ensure that our military defense system is protected, and we must carry out counteroffensive measures to prevent the loss of territory, Skibitskyi explains.

According to him, last year proved it.
