Several mass media published information that the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, told the Italian media about the "stalemate" situation at the front. The Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) reports that this is a misinterpretation.

What Zelenskyy said to the Italian media about AFU's summer counteroffensive
The CCD notes that Zelenskyy, commenting on the situation at the front this summer, said that the "sea unit" gave a positive result. Thanks to these operations, Ukraine was able to restore an independent "grain corridor".
However, the land part of the operations ended in stagnation. In particular, it is about counteroffensive actions in the south. However, this does not mean that the situation at the front can be called a "stalemate", and the Defense Forces of Ukraine will continue the de-occupation of the territories.
The mass media were urged to pay more attention to the translation of direct speech and the dissemination of information in order to avoid manipulation.
Zelenskyy's spokesman clarified the president's words
Zelenskyy's spokesman, Serhii Nikiforov, also noted that Zelenskyy spoke specifically about counteroffensive actions in the south this summer.
He submitted the original answer of the President of Ukraine:
As for the land line, you are right and there is stagnation. And this is a fact, because something was missing. Sometimes you think that this is the date, that they will move forward. I believe there were delays in terms of the amount of ammo that was appropriate. And delays are a miscalculation. But to be honest, we are not just fighting a terrorist organization — we are fighting terrorists who are one of the largest armies in the world.
It should be noted that the RAI channel presented the president's words as follows:
As far as the war on the ground is concerned, the situation has come to a stalemate, that's a fact, because there have been delays in equipment, and delays mean mistakes.
