Since October last year, the criminal army of Russia has been unsuccessfully attempting to launch an offensive in the Kupyansk district of Kharkiv region.

What is known about situation in Kupyansk area

According to Volodymyr Fityo, the head of the Press Service of the Ground Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the information of the analysts of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) about the limited success of the Russian occupiers in the Kupyansk area is not entirely true, as the war criminals of the Russian army have been making offensive attempts in the area since October, but without success.

In reality, the situation there is somewhat different. The enemy has been trying to advance in the Kupyansk sector since October. The Russian occupiers have not had any success in this area. There are daily attacks there, said Fityo.

The Ground Forces spokesman stressed that the Russian army's war criminals are trying to take control of Synkivka in the Kupyansk district, and over the past day alone, Ukrainian troops repelled seven enemy attacks in this area.

Compared to the previous data, the activity has slightly decreased. We are monitoring the enemy, but there are no successes in the Kupyansk sector near Synkivka, so Kharkiv residents can be calm. We do not observe any accumulation of enemy troops, emphasised Andriy Fityo.

He also added that the command of the Russian occupation army is trying to strengthen certain units, including assault units.

They used to rely on infantry, but have been increasingly using vehicles. Last week, there was an assault near Synkivka, where two tanks and three armoured personnel carriers were destroyed, 30 Russians were killed and ten wounded, according to the army spokesman.

However, Fityo stressed that such attacks have been happening all the time lately, and the Russians are also actively using equipment.

The spokesman added that due to heavy losses, Russian war criminals regularly regroup.
