Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, Mike Johnson, called maintaining military support for Ukraine one of the priority issues for Washington.

What is known about the prospects of maintaining military aid to Ukraine from the United States

I think it will all come together in the coming days. I am confident and optimistic that we will be able to do it — bring it to the end, Johnson assured.

According to him, there is currently a feeling of an urgent need to approve further military aid to Ukraine and Israel.

Johnson emphasized that members of Congress are currently actively discussing this.

At the same time, the speaker of the House of Representatives emphasized that providing military aid to Israel is the main priority for the USA, and similar assistance to Ukraine is one of the main priorities.

Of course, we cannot allow Vladimir Putin to march through Europe, and we understand the need to provide assistance there, Johnson said.

He explained that if Ukraine needs additional aid, which most members of Congress consider essential, then it is also necessary to work on changing the US border policy.

What the US State Department says about aid to Ukraine

According to Jim O'Brien, assistant head of the US State Department for European and Eurasian Affairs, the department is optimistic about Congress approving the request for additional military aid to Ukraine.

I believe the Senate is preparing to take action in the next few weeks, O'Brien emphasized.

In his opinion, the vast majority of members of Congress in the House of Representatives support the additional document, which will ensure a decisive victory for the Israeli military in the conflict unleashed by Hamas terrorists and will strengthen the security situation in Ukraine and Taiwan.

We proved that for the security of the United States, for the security of the Alliance and for our key partners to feel safe, it is very important that we provide assistance, the representative of the State Department said.

He emphasized that the package of issues to be considered by the Congress includes military support for Ukraine and funds for developing the Ukrainian economy.

In this context, the Deputy Secretary of State noted that now Ukraine "pays 60% of military expenses for the war, and our European allies provide an even larger amount."

They provided Ukraine with aid in the amount of more than 100 billion euros, while at that time the United States provided 70 billion euros. So this is really a coalition effort, and I think it's important for our partners to hear that we're going to continue to contribute even as our Congress is debating the next steps of what we're going to provide," O'Brien said.
