On 10 January, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Vilnius, Lithuania, and will later visit Tallinn, Estonia, and Riga, Latvia.

What is known about Zelenskyy's visit

Zelenskyy said he would hold talks with the Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, as well as with the country's Prime Minister and Speaker of the Parliament. Afterwards, the president will meet with representatives of political forces, the media and the local Ukrainian community.

The head of state noted that the main issues to be discussed during the visit would be security, Ukraine's integration into the EU and NATO, cooperation in the field of electronic warfare and drones, as well as further coordination of European support.

And, of course, our deepest gratitude. For the uncompromising support of Ukraine throughout the 10 years of war, and especially now, after the start of the full-scale invasion, Zelenskyy said.

The President also stressed that Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia were reliable friends and principled partners of Ukraine.

Lithuania continues to help Ukraine more and more actively

Official Vilnius has previously organised training for Ukrainian military personnel, provided treatment and rehabilitation for Ukrainian citizens, prepared expert advice, and allocated funds to international funds to support Ukraine.

In addition, it is emphasised that the Lithuanian authorities have even managed to develop a long-term support plan.

According to preliminary data, in 2024-2026, Vilnius plans to provide Ukraine with a new military aid package worth €200 million.

In addition, Lithuania provided Ukraine with several million rounds of ammunition and several thousand rounds of ammunition for short-range portable anti-tank grenade launchers, as well as about a thousand folding beds.

It has also recently become known that the first Leopard-2 battle tanks that were damaged during the fighting were repaired in Lithuania for the Ukrainian military.
