President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell. They discussed the needs of Ukraine on the battlefield.

Meeting between Zelenskyy and Borrell

I am honoured to be received again by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He asked for additional ammunition, drones and air defense systems. Mobilising additional EU military equipment for Ukraine is my top priority. We must do more and do it faster.

Borrell emphasised that the future of Ukraine lies in the EU.

Ukraine has demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to reform and will soon begin accession negotiations. We will continue to work hand in hand to make this happen.

Zelenskyy said that he had a productive meeting with Borrell. The President informed the EU representative about the situation on the battlefield.

They also discussed cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in the security sphere, particularly the supply of 1 million artillery ammunition.

The President thanked Borrell for his support of Ukraine and Ukrainians.

In times of extraordinary challenges, in our battle for freedom, sovereignty and independence, all free European nations are on the side of Ukraine and the rules-based international order.

Borrell's visit to Kyiv

On February 6, Josep Borrell visited Kyiv for the fourth time since the start of the full-scale war. He was shown how drones are produced for the state program "Army of Drones".

He spent the morning of February 7 in a shelter because of a massive Russian missile attack.

Starting my morning in a shelter as air alarms are sounding across Kyiv. This is the daily reality of the brave Ukrainian people since Russia started its illegal aggression.
