Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the law on the demobilisation of conscripts.
What is known about Zelenskyy's approval of the law on demobilisation
On the website of the Verkhovna Rada, it is noted that Law No. 11035 "On Amendments to Chapter XII "Final Provisions" of the Law of Ukraine "On Military Obligation and Military Service" Regarding Terms of Conscript Military Service" was returned with the President's signature on February 26.
The President introduced the law to the parliament on February 22.
The bill's explanatory note stated that the development of the bill is conditioned by the need to ensure the release into reserve of military personnel who have served the established terms of military conscript service.
The draft law proposed to normalise the possibility of releasing servicemen who have served the established terms of fixed-term military service into the reserve during the period of martial law in Ukraine, which will allow the release into the reserve of those who served the established terms of fixed-term military service in 2024.
How the law on demobilisation was adopted
On February 23, the Committee on National Security and Defense supported the bill on demobilising conscripts in Ukraine.
At the same time, the Committee proposed considering the proposal regarding the terms during which conscripts cannot be called up.

Such persons cannot be called up for military service during mobilisation within twelve months from the date of release from military service to the reserve, if they have not expressed a desire to continue military service, the text of the law states.
