The Ukrainian military has achieved certain successes in the area of Avdiivka in Donetsk region, captured by the criminal army of the Russian Federation.
What is known about the situation in the Avdiivka area
According to the United Press Center, Capt. Dmytro Lykhovii, the Russian invaders are destroying everything in their path west to Avdiivka. Still, the Ukrainian military does not allow the criminals from the Russian army to gain a foothold in new positions and forces them to retreat.
"Unfortunately, one of the main advantages of the enemy remains superiority in the sky, superiority in aviation, and 45 strikes over the past 24 hours — this figure consists almost entirely of guided aerial bombs," Lykhovii explains.
The OSTG "Tavria" spokesman noted that he spoke about Soviet high-explosive bombs modernised by the Russian occupiers, which can be launched at a considerable distance from the front line.
And since the warhead of these bombs is very large. It is 250 kg, 500kg, a 1000 or more kilograms, the destructive capabilities of these bombs are very large. They simply turn fortifications and settlements into solid ruins, where there is nothing to hold on to. That is why our units are forced to withdraw from their occupied positions in some places, but I emphasise that the line of combat contact remains dynamic, and therefore, a certain maneuver is carried out when they move to those positions that are more protected, — says Lykhovii.
He also emphasised that the enemy's advantage in artillery means of destruction affects the situation.
The enemy simply destroys everything in front of them, and then their assault groups enter these directions, no longer settlements, but simply destroyed settlements. They land as a landing party from armored combat vehicles, but at the same time, far from everywhere what the Russians show as a result, such as captured villages and positions, it remains so, because they are knocked out from there, they are destroyed in large numbers, — says OSTG "Tavria" speaker.
What is happening in the Lastochkyne area
The OSTG "Tavria" spokesman noted that after the retreat of the Ukrainian military from Lastochkyne, the Russian occupiers launched an assault on Orlivka from three directions.
The AFU did withdraw from the village of Lastochkine, which is located immediately west of Avdiivka. There are difficult terrain conditions. There is such a cascade of small reservoirs. And that qualifies as stabilisation of the defensive line, some alignment of the defensive line. And in the future, the enemy there continues to attempt offensive actions in the direction of the settlement of Orlivka. He actually leads them from three directions, but they are not successful at Orlivka, — explains Lykhovii.
He noted that it is currently impossible to accurately predict how the situation on the battlefield will change after the retreat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Lastochkyne.
But it must be emphasised that our units are doing everything, making maximum efforts to destroy the enemy, which continues its offensive with increased assault groups, not sparing its cannon fodder, having an advantage in aviation and in artillery, — emphasised the OSTG "Tavria" speaker.
Lykhovii added that the enemy is actively using the advantage in aviation and artillery, evidenced by the increase in the number of airstrikes (up to 45) and assault actions (up to 25) in the Avdiivka direction.
Over the past day, the total number of enemy losses in terms of eliminated and wounded personnel in the OSTG "Tavria" operational zone amounted to 447 people. As for armaments and military equipment, there are 62 units, not including drones, — noted Lykhovii.
In particular, 13 tanks, 32 armored personnel vehicles, two artillery systems, 15 vehicles, one ammunition depot and 266 drones of various types were destroyed.
AFU is strengthening defences in the Avdiivka region
The OSTG "Tavria"“ Commander, Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, noted that the Ukrainian military is currently supporting the defence line and preparing the defence of settlements west of Avdiivka.
Tarnavskyi added that the invaders tried to break through the defences of the Ukrainian troops 40 times in Mariinka's direction alone. There are 25 near Avdiivka and six in Zaporizhzhia.
At the same time, he said, in the OSTG "Tavria" entire operational zone, the total losses of the enemy on Feb 25 amounted to 447 people.
In addition, the occupiers' losses in weapons and military equipment amounted to 62 units, not including 266 drones.

What is known about the situation in the Zaporizhzhia region
Tarnavsky noted that on the front line in the Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian occupiers are trying to move small infantry assault groups on armoured vehicles and high-speed ATVs, but they still suffer losses.
Over the past week, the Defence Forces of Ukraine destroyed ten quad bikes of the Russian occupiers in the Zaporizhzhia region.
At the same time, the OSTG "Tavria" speaker, Dmytro Lykhovii, noted that in the Zaporizhzhia region, the Russian occupiers did not have such success as in the Avdiivka region of Donetsk region.
He noted that over the past 24 hours, the enemy has carried out six assaults in the direction of Zaporizhzhia.
Of course, this is also a lot. Especially taking into account that there is an open area and the enemy is also attacking in small assault groups, but somehow gradually increases their number, using armored vehicles with a landing party within the limits of the same settlement of Robotyne, but against the background of the Avdiiv and Marin directions, where yesterday was 40 enemy attacks in the areas of the settlements of Novomykhailivka, Georhiivka, Pobieda — the Zaporizhia direction, although hot, but, nevertheless, there is less news about any successes of the enemy from there now, — emphasised Lykhovii.
He noted that weather conditions also affect military operations.
Except that, there, I don't know if it can be called a "highlight", that the weather conditions allow the enemy to use ATVs to move personnel there, but the Defence Forces of Ukraine do not. And if you count the statistics for the past week, then during the week, when the enemy is conducting certain intensive offensive actions in the direction of Zaporozhzhia, 10 enemy quad bikes were destroyed, hit and damaged there, — notes the OSTG "Tavria" spokesman.
According to him, this is evidence that the enemy is trying to diversify its tactics. At the same time, if the Russians talk about any successes in the direction of Zaporizhzhia, they are temporary.
