DIU chief Budanov says Russia's army will exhaust its offensive potential close to spring

DIU chief Kyrylo Budanov

According to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) chief, Lieut Gen Kyrylo Budanov, the criminal army of the Russian Federation will exhaust all available offensive potential by the beginning of spring.

Budanov predicts the complete failure of the Russian army offensive already in the spring

Not yet. Closer to spring. Now I can tell you that the offensive operation of the Russian Federation is currently underway, — the DIU notes.

Budanov emphasised that the new large-scale offensive of the occupation army of the Russian Federation began in November last year and has been going on for two and a half months.

According to him, it is not possible to determine any significant results of this enemy offensive.

However, the DIU chief admitted that Russian war criminals have had some success in advancing in the Avdiyivka area.

But this is not what they expected. They wanted to quickly reach the barrier line along the Black Stallion River in Kharkiv Region and reach the administrative borders of Donetsk and Luhansk Regions. As you can understand, there is not even close to that, — explains General Budanov.

He noted that the enemy's offensive is continuing and should be exhausted sometime at the beginning of spring.

Budanov also added that when the enemy finishes making his move, it will be the turn of the Ukrainian military to do combat work.

Will North Korea provide Russia with the amount of the necessary weapons?

According to the DIU chief, currently, Russia's occupation army in Ukraine does not experience a shortage of ammunition and weapons. Still, the situation may change in the event of the termination of military support from North Korea.

The DIU chief emphasised that smuggling of components for various types of weapons is legally legalised in Russia.

According to him, that is why the sanctions of Ukraine's Western partners could not put an end to these supplies to the aggressor country.

At the same time, Budanov noted that the occupying Russian army is currently experiencing a particular shortage of artillery ammunition.

The head of the GUR explained that we are talking about 152 and 122 mm calibres.

In addition, as Budanov notes, there is a shortage of Uragan, Smerch, and Grad surface-to-air missiles in Russia.

According to the DIU chief, during his visit to North Korea, the Kremlin dictator and war criminal Vladimir Putin will agree on further cooperation in the field of missile development.

Russia thinks that it is normal to transfer certain missile technologies to North Korea. North Korea will understandably do a lot for these technologies. There are serious human resources and defense capabilities — they are not comparable to the capabilities of the Russian Federation. They work more efficiently than the Russians. Therefore, there will definitely be an increase in the supply of artillery weapons, Budanov predicts.

According to his estimates, the human and production resources allow North Korea to satisfy the needs of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation in terms of artillery weapons.

There are many people at enterprises. In North Korea, as it is not a shame, they can show off like that. There are enough people and enterprises. The weapons there are not modern, but the production volumes are serious. In fact, this is a weapon of the last century — but a projectile — it will fly, with an error, but it will fly. It is necessary to admit this, — stresses Budanov.
