According to Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) speaker Andriy Yusov, the information about the alleged permission of former presidential adviser Oleksiy Arestovych to leave Ukraine is untrue.
DIU did not permit Arestovych to leave Ukraine
Yusov emphasised that the information that Arestovych left Ukraine on September 4, 2023, allegedly with the help of a letter from DIU, is fake.
We can inform you that the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine did not provide any documents, certificates, official or unofficial applications for the departure of the mentioned person abroad on September 4, 2023. This information is false. And its publication right now bears the signs of a purposeful information campaign against DIU and its leadership, notes the DIU speaker.
What is known about Arestovych's departure from Ukraine
On February 1, NGL.media journalists published an investigation into the departure of the former advisor of the president's office from the country.
According to their data, on September 4, 2023, he managed to cross the border with the help of a letter from Ukrainian intelligence.
It is noted that since the beginning of the full-scale war, Arestovych has repeatedly travelled outside Ukraine but always returned.
After leaving the country, Arestovych made several scandalous statements; in particular, he called to make peace between Ukraine and Russia and then filed a joint lawsuit against the West because those countries "were to blame".
