Hungary has joined the coalition of 20 member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), which will deal with demining Ukraine's territory.
Hungary will help Ukraine with demining
A meeting of NATO countries took place in Brussels on February 15. During the meeting, an agreement was signed on establishing the Mine Action Coalition.
Ukrainian developers are creating innovative AI demining technology
Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov reported on new developments of Ukrainian technologists.
Developers connect artificial intelligence to sensors. It identifies and classifies data about objects on the earth's surface and deep below it and automatically maps them. Thus, demining is accelerated tenfold, and this process generally becomes safer for people.
The technology from UADamage works in three stages.
The first is strategic planning. The team uses satellite images and data from cadastres to determine the area's mining extent.
The second is a visual assessment of the presence of mines and explosive objects. A drone with a camera examines the territory, and artificial intelligence detects dangerous objects.
The third stage is an inspection under the ground and in the grass, where various sensors are used.
Apart from the number of mines, the most challenging thing in the demining process is that they can be at a considerable depth and cannot be seen by metal detectors. Join the Brave1 cluster with your innovations. Let's clean Ukraine from dirt together!
NATO coalition for demining of Ukraine
The other day, Lithuania and 20 other countries approved a coalition for demining Ukraine. In the artillery coalition, our first contribution will be 155 mm ammunition, drones and anti-drone systems.
The UK Secretary of Defence, Grant Shapps, said that his country and Latvia would lead a drone coalition and announced the transfer of a thousand drones to our country as part of a British package worth 200 million pounds.
On December 12, 2023, Ukraine's Minister of Defense, Rustem Umierov, and his Latvian colleague, Andris Spruds, discussed the creation of a coalition of drones. The Ukrainian official expressed gratitude to the Latvian side for the relevant initiative.
