The Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban called not to allow Ukrainian agricultural products to the countries of the European Union.
Orban called to stop the import of agricultural products from Ukraine
In a video released by Hungary's ruling Fidesz party on social media, Orbán says that "the problem for European farmers is that Brussels sets rules that make production more and more expensive for them."
According to him, this also applies to Hungary, but they allow the import of agricultural products into Europe from countries where the same rules do not apply.
He added that nobody seems to be listening to the farmers, so they feel that the distance between them and the decision-makers in Brussels is "from the ground to the sky".
Farmers' protests: what is known
It should be noted that in recent weeks Europe has been covered by mass protests by farmers, and fishermen have also joined them in recent days.
They are protesting against the introduction of various EU environmental requirements.
Currently, Polish farmers are blocking six checkpoints on the border with Ukraine: "Yagodyn", "Ustilug", "Ugryniv", "Rava-Ruska", "Shegyni" and "Krakivets".
As of the morning of February 19, there were a total of about 2,900 freight vehicles in queues on all these routes
Earlier, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine assumed that the blocking of checkpoints by Polish farmers could delay the delivery of humanitarian aid.
On February 18, on the Polish side of the Yagodyn-Dorogusk checkpoint, Polish farmers, together with farmers from Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and France, demanded restrictions on the amount of Ukrainian agricultural products entering the EU.
