Polish farmers have completely blocked the movement of trucks from Ukraine to Poland in the direction of the Shegyni, Yagodyn, Ugryniv, and Ustylug checkpoints.
What is the situation on the border with Ukraine?
According to the spokesman of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Andriy Demchenko, in the direction of the checkpoints "Yagodyn" and "Shegyny," farmers are passing a minimal number of cars from Poland to Ukraine—for the past day, it has been 50 and 30, respectively.
According toDemchenko, as of Tuesday morning, there are a total of 1,500 trucks in queues on the territory of Poland on these routes, the largest of which is opposite the Yagodyn checkpoint.
The spokesman recalled that on the night of Mar. 9, Polish farmers stopped blocking the road to the Korchova-Krakivets checkpoint. However, this is most likely temporary, as they plan to renew their protest on Mar. 13. As of this morning, the queue in this direction is about 500 trucks.
Demchenko added that passenger cars and buses cross the border freely everywhere, and movement on the other side of the border is not restricted for this Category of transport.
Protests of Polish farmers: what is known
Since Feb. 9, Polish farmers have been blocking checkpoints on the border of Ukraine for the passage of trucks.
These are the checkpoints: "Dorogusk — Yagodyn", "Grebenne — Rava-Ruska", "Medyka — Shegyni", "Zosyn — Ustylug", "Dolgobichuv — Ughryniv", "Korchova — Krakowiec".
They demanded that the importation of Ukrainian agricultural products be banned and Poland abandon the European Green Deal.
During this time, they dumped Ukrainian crops five times from freight cars onto the tracks or from trucks onto the roads.
Former Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov reported that Polish protesters and the police stopped passenger buses with Ukrainians at the border.
Later, the Polish police denied the delays of the passenger buses.
