According to the representative of the Democratic Party in the US Senate, Chris Murphy, the upper house of the US Parliament can approve the request for financing aid to Ukraine as early as the middle of next week.
What is known about the terms of approval by the US Senate of aid to Ukraine
It is noted that on the evening of Sunday, February 11, the Senate held a procedural vote and approved the final consideration of the issue of financing aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan in the amount of 95 billion euros.
The Senate is working on the bill through this weekend, but a final vote could be days away. He first passed the critical 60-vote threshold to advance the bill, then held another procedural vote on Friday and a debate on Saturday.
What's next and what are the risks
If passed in the Senate, the bill will go to the House of Representatives, where a large number of Republican Party representatives threaten to block it.
The bill can move faster if Democrats and Republicans agree to speed up its consideration. But so far no such agreement has been reached.
The Senate on Sunday voted to end debate and amend H.815, which provides $95 billion to support Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan.
Thus, the process of adoption of the draft law moves further according to the procedure. The next step should be a vote on the substance of the bill in its current form. This requires the support of at least 51 legislators.
It is expected that the vote on this issue will take place in the coming days, as according to the rules, at least 30 hours must pass after the end of the debate.
