The offender was particularly interested in military pilots, commanders of special forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and employees of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU). The Russian intelligence agent will spend the next 15 years in prison for espionage.

An FSS agent was convicted of espionage

A resident of Kharkiv, who worked for the Federal Security Service (FSS) of Russia, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for preparing sabotage against Ukrainian pilots and commanders.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) on Facebook.

According to the SSU, the resident of Kharkiv was monitoring the servicemen of the Ukrainian defense forces in the Kharkiv region.

The area of special attention of the offender was focused on military pilots, commanders of special forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and employees of the Security Service of Ukraine, law enforcement officers said.

The man was trying to establish the places of temporary deployment and residence of Ukrainian defenders, as well as the routes of their movement in their own cars. In addition, he tried to identify enterprises of the defence industry in the region.

The Russians wanted to use this data to prepare a series of sabotage attacks against Ukrainian defenders and defence enterprises.

A traitor was detained in Kharkiv

The SSU counterintelligence detained the FSS agent as a result of a special operation in Kharkiv in March this year.

According to the investigation, the perpetrator is a local resident who was remotely recruited in November 2022 by an officer of the FSS operational group in Belgorod region, A. P. Salitsev, law enforcement officers found out.

The FSS found the man through his brother, a reserve serviceman of the Russian army. To carry out his tasks, the traitor walked the streets of Kharkiv and filmed Ukrainian defenders with his phone camera. For conspiracy, he used 3 mobile phones and 7 numbers of different operators.

During the searches, they were found to have a laptop and mobile phones with evidence of their work for the FSS.

Nord Stream revival. Germany demands Merz intervene

German authorities are outraged by joint plans between the US and Russia
Source:  NTV

In Germany, the Green Party is calling on the future Chancellor of Germany and leader of the conservative CDU, Friedrich Merz, to respond promptly to the US-Russia talks on the revival of Russian gas pipelines.

Points of attention

  • The involvement of Putin's German friend Matthias Warnig in lobbying for Nord Stream 2 restart raises concerns about the project's motives and implications.
  • The situation underscores the importance of analyzing the geopolitical consequences of energy projects like Nord Stream and their impact on European security and economic interests.

German authorities are outraged by joint plans between the US and Russia

Recently, the scandalous Russian diplomat Sergei Lavrov officially confirmed that the Kremlin and the White House are holding negotiations on Nord Stream.

The leader of the Green Party, Franziska Brantner, reacted to this statement.

If Lavrov is now saying that the US and Russia are negotiating the commissioning of Nord Stream 2, the future Chancellor must make it clear that this is not in the interests of either Germany or Europe, the German politician emphasized.

Against this background, she mentioned the defense and infrastructure package adopted last week.

According to Brantner, she and her party colleagues did not vote for billions spent on German defense capabilities so that the future federal government could “fill the Russian military coffers with gas money again.”

By the way, it recently became known that Putin's German friend Matthias Warnig, since his days working in the Stasi secret police, has been lobbying in the US for the restart of Nord Stream 2.
