Poland confirms Russian missile flew in its airspace

The Polish military confirmed that a Russian missile violated Polish airspace on the morning of 29 December. According to media reports, it could have been an Kh-22 or Kh-101 missile.

A Russian rocket flew into Poland

The Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army, General Wieslaw Kukula, spoke at a press conference after a meeting of the Polish National Security Bureau.

Everything points to a Russian missile entering Polish airspace. We have radar confirmation from Poland and our allies.

In the morning, an unknown object entered Poland from Ukraine. President Andrzej Duda convened an emergency meeting of the National Security Council.

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Defence Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz and heads of the General Staff and Operational Command, General Wieslaw Kukula and General Maciej Klisz.

After the meeting, the Minister of Defence announced that the object had violated Polish airspace this morning.

Polsat News, citing military sources, reports that a Russian Kh-22 or Kh-101 missile flew into Poland in the morning.

Radars missed the target near Zamosc. Wieslawa Sienkowska, the head of Komarów Osada commune in Zamosc region, told reporters that locals did not hear the explosion. The search for the missile continues.

Rocket in Poland: what is known

Earlier it became known that a flying object moving at high speed was observed by residents of the village of Dolhobyczow in the Lublin Voivodeship region.

We are talking about the outskirts of the village of Przewodow where a year ago a rocket that flew in from abroad exploded.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud noise and whistling. The object was moving west.

The incident was confirmed by the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces.

In the morning, an unidentified aircraft flew into the airspace of the Republic of Poland from the border with Ukraine, which was observed by radar means of the country's air defence system from the moment it crossed the border until the signal disappeared, the press service reports.
