On January 16, it became known about the death of the former head of the Russian Red Cross Raisa Lukutzova. She was 74.

Moreover, it is indicated that from 2012 to 2019, Lukutzova was a member of the Russian President's Human Rights Council (HRC).

According to preliminary data, the death of the 74-year-old woman is not of a criminal nature, no traces of violence were found on the body, writes one of the Russian Telegram channels.

Moreover, it is emphasised that Lukutzova has recently been seriously ill.

The scandals surrounding Russia's Red Cross ex-chief

According to Russian propagandists, in August 2021, a criminal case was opened against Lukutzova.

Within a year, the Gagarin Court of Moscow sentenced her to four years with a three-year probationary period under the article "Attempt to commit fraud on an immense scale."

She was found guilty of selling the property and building of the "Druzhba" sanatorium at an undervalued price.

A businessman who wanted to purchase the premises of "Druzhba" planned to open a private clinic there. According to the publication, he offered 135 million rubles for the deal. However, after the entrepreneur found out that the RRC head does not have the right to dispose of the sanatorium's property, he turned to the law enforcement authorities.

Later, it became known that Raisa Lukutzova was detained after receiving a bribe of 30 million rubles.
