The Kremlin throws a lot of forces and resources to advance the Russian invaders on the Ukrainian front, but the Russian Federation has not been able to achieve any significant successes.
The Russian army cannot fulfill Putin's tasks in Ukraine
The head of the operational department of the General Staff of the Estonian Defense Forces, Colonel Tarmo Kundla, made a comment on this matter.
He believes that the presidential elections in the Russian Federation, which should take place in March, will have an impact on the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine.
He also drew attention to the fact that Ukraine is pushing its military operations further and further into the internal territory of the Russian Federation, destroying important targets.
In addition, it is emphasized that the operational and tactical tasks of Russia remain unfulfilled, and the defense of Ukraine is holding firm.
What will happen at the front
According to Tarmo Kundla, in the coming weeks, Russian soldiers will carry out raids on Ukrainian territory in the border areas of Belgorod and Kharkiv regions.
In this way, the Russian army wants to tie up Russian units there and force Ukrainian forces to transfer additional troops from the Kupyan direction.
The Donetsk direction remains the main bridgehead for Russian troops. More active fighting is taking place in the districts of Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Donetsk.
As the representative of the General Staff of Estonia notes, the intensity of actions of the Russian armed forces in the Zaporozhye and Kherson directions is much more restrained.
He also predicted that the replacement of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will not bring any changes at the front in the near future.
