Russia claims large-scale drone attack on Kursk and other regions

Russia said that on the night of March 9, its air defense forces allegedly shot down 47 drones over four regions. The aircraft construction enterprise in Taganrog could be damaged by the attack.

The Ministry of Defense of Russia states that air defense forces shot down drones over the following areas:

41 drones over the Rostov region,
1 — above Belgorod region,
2 — over Kursk region,
3 — above Volgograd region.

One of the Russian Telegram channels writes that the drone attack on Taganrog in the Rostov region lasted an hour or an hour and a half. The Taganrog aviation scientific and technical complex named after Beriev could be affected.

According to another channel, a fire broke out in Taganrog due to the fall of the debris of the drone, which was extinguished. The other two drones were found on the territory of the metallurgical plant.

Vasyl Golubev, head of the Rostov region, said that an employee of the Ministry of Emergency Affairs was injured as a result of the massive attack by the BpLA, and he is in the hospital.

At the same time, the governor of the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, says that in Kursk, fragments of a downed drone fell on the roof of a polyclinic. No one was injured, but patients from the intensive care unit of a nearby building were evacuated to other medical facilities.

Drone attacks on Russia

On March 8, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said that as a result of an attack by kamikaze drones in the area of the village of Rozhdestvenka, two people were allegedly killed, and a third person was seriously injured. There is damage in the area.

On March 7, an explosion occurred in Cherepovka, Vologda region of the Russian Federation, near the Severstal metallurgical plant. The Russians claim that the cause was allegedly a drone attack.

On the same day, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation announced the alleged interception and downing of 5 drones, namely:

one drone was intercepted over the Kursk region,
three UAVs were destroyed over the Bryansk region,
two drones were shot down over the Tula region.

The recent Russian drone strike on Ukrainian gas production facilities in Poltava resulted in significant material damage, affecting public buildings and nearby enterprises.

He made this statement during a briefing at the Pitufik space base in Greenland.

When asked whether the US had agreed to the conditions voiced by the Kremlin to achieve peace in the Black Sea, including the possible lifting of sanctions on Russian banks, Vance emphasized that there are many fakes circulating in the information space.

Some of them are not entirely clear on what this is all about. But the President (Trump - ed.) has said, and I think he's right, that we feel very good about what's happening. We trust, but we verify - we make sure that what we see from one side is being done by the other side, and vice versa.

Vance also noted that this war began under President Joe Biden's administration, resulting in significant loss of life and destruction. At the same time, he believes that thanks to President Trump's efforts, the United States has an opportunity to achieve a peaceful settlement.

However, Russia continues to attack Ukraine's energy and gas facilities.

"So, on the night of March 27-28, Russia launched a drone strike on the Poltava community of Ukraine, targeting the warehouses of the Ukrainian Gas Production Company," said Volodymyr Kohut, the acting head of the Poltava OVA.

According to him, these premises stored spare parts, repair tools, and other equipment necessary for the restoration of energy wells from oil and gas production.

There were warehouses of the Ukrgazvydobuvannya enterprise, where materials and spare parts for drilling rigs and other components for oil and gas processing were stored. The attack was carried out by 13 Shahed drones, which flew in a swarm to one point. Some of them were shot down by air defense forces, but the debris fell on the territory. Damage was suffered not only by the facilities of Ukrgazvydobuvannya, but also by other enterprises located nearby - from the blast wave and debris.

He also noted that public buildings were also damaged as a result of the explosions: roofs were torn off in some buildings, windows were broken, and facades were damaged.

Current situation on the front on March 29

Operational information as of 16:00 on 03/29/2025 regarding the Russian invasion was provided by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ukrainian soldiers today stopped one attack in the Vovchansk area in the Kharkiv direction.
In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy carried out three assault operations, in the direction of Pishchane and near Zagryzove.
In the Lymansk direction, the invading army attacked 13 times near Nadiya, Yampolivka, Kolodyazy, Torske, in the directions of Novy and Novomykhailivka. Three combat clashes are still ongoing.
In the Siversky direction, the Defense Forces repelled two attacks near Ivano-Daryivka and Pereyzne, and another combat clash is still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, Ukrainian defenders stopped ten attempts by the occupiers to advance in the directions of Maiske, Oleksandro-Shulty, Predtechyny, Bila Hora, near Chasovy Yar, Stupochy, and Kurdyumivka. Three combat clashes are still ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, the enemy attacked 12 times near Krymske, Toretsk, and in the direction of Diliivka.
In the Pokrovsky direction, since the beginning of the day, the invaders have made 58 attempts to push our defenders from the occupied positions in the areas of the settlements of Panteleymonivka, Oleksandropil, Vodyane Druge, Yelyzavetivka, Lysivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novoserhiivka, Uspenivka, Novooleksandrivka, Sribne, Andriivka, as well as in the direction of Kotlyarivka. The defense forces are holding back the enemy's onslaught and have stopped 45 attacks, 13 combat clashes are still ongoing.
Today, in the Novopavlivske direction, the enemy attacked 12 times near Konstantinopol, Skudne, and in the direction of Rozlyv. Six combat clashes are still ongoing.
In the Hulyaipil direction, the enemy carried out nine attacks near Pryvilne, Novosilka, and in the direction of Novopil. In addition, the enemy carried out air strikes on Hulyaipil.
In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy twice attacked the positions of our defenders near the settlements of Kamianske and Lobkove, and one combat clash is still ongoing.
In the Prydniprovsky direction, the enemy conducted two offensive operations in the Sadovye and Prydnipryansky directions, but was unsuccessful.
In the Kursk region, Ukrainian defenders have repelled 17 Russian attacks, and two more clashes are still ongoing. Since the beginning of the day, the enemy has carried out four air strikes, dropped a total of five guided aerial bombs on the positions of our troops and settlements, and carried out 155 artillery attacks, including five from multiple launch rocket systems.
