Viktor Zhora

On November 27, the deputy head of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection (SSSCIP), Viktor Zhora, received from the court a pre-trial measure in the form of detention with the alternative of paying a 10 million UAH bail.

The court sent the suspect of corruption under arrest

On November 27, the higher anti-corruption court chose a pre-trial measure against Viktor Zhor, the former deputy head of the SSSCIP. Together with other persons, he is suspected of embezzling state funds for over 62 million hryvnias.

The press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office informs about it.

Thus, the court satisfied the request of the NABU detectives, agreed to by the SAP prosecutor, and applied to the former deputy a preventive measure in the form of detention with the alternative of making a bail of 10 million UAH and imposition of procedural obligations in the case of making it.

The case of the head of the State Intelligence Service and his deputy

NABU exposed a large-scale criminal scheme in which the leadership of the State Special Communications Service was involved.

The ex-chief of SSSCIP, Yuriy Shchygol, and his deputy, Viktor Zhora, are suspected of having illegally seized state funds worth more than UAH 62 million. The money was allocated for the purchase of equipment and software.

Law enforcement officers believe that the officials worked out a scheme with the owner of a group of companies. They involved two controlled firms, and the procurement was classified to ensure their victory.

Initially, the High Anti-Corruption Court chose a preventive measure for the former head of the SSSCIP, Yury Shchygol, in the form of detention.

Later, Shchygol was released on bail for UAH 25 million.
