Russian propagandists created a video with a deep fake of the commander of the AFU Ground Forces, Gen Oleksandr Syrskyy, where he calls for "surrender" and "peace negotiations".
A deep fake with Oleksandr Syrskyy appeared on the network
In the video, "Syrskyy" says that allegedly he and Zaluzhnyy have been negotiating with Gerasimov and Shoigu for a long time to end the "fratricidal war".
Also, the fake commander of the Ground Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces called on the Ukrainian military to surrender to Russian captivity.
The deep fake reveals an apparent difference between the complexion of "Syrskyy", an unnatural movement of the mouth, as well as the Ukrainian language with errors.
Deepfake is a technology for artificially creating videos generated using machine learning algorithms. The concept of deepfakes is straightforward. You need to transfer one person's face to another person's video.
The Russians created deep fakes with Zaluzhnyy
At the beginning of November, the Russians launched two deep fakes at once with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valerii Zaluzhnyy, who allegedly called for a coup d'état.
In one video, the fake "Zaluzhnyy" accused the Ukrainian authorities of the death of his assistant and called on the population of Ukraine to take to the squares of their cities and the military to disobey the "criminal orders" of the authorities.
In another video, the "Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces" seems to claim that Zelenskyy is trying to eliminate him and that he is surrendering the country and failed the counteroffensive.
The Center for Countering Disinformation points out that the purpose of these videos is to support the Russian PsyOps about President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's alleged preparation of an assassination attempt on Zaluzhnyy.
