Kyiv introduces changes to traffic management due to flooding of metro stations

Ihor Klymenko
Road traffic

Kyiv is introducing changes to traffic management on the busiest road sections to avoid a transport collapse. The reason is the closure of several metro stations for repairs.

Changes in traffic management in Kyiv

Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko has announced a meeting of the State Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies to discuss the situation with the flooding of several Kyiv metro stations.

Due to the closure of the metro, the main burden of transporting citizens will fall on public land transport. Accordingly, there will be more of it, so traffic may become significantly more difficult.

The minister proposed to introduce changes in traffic management on the busiest sections of the capital's roads:

  • increase the capacity of public transport,

  • adjust the timing of switching traffic lights,

  • relocate public transport stops for convenience,

  • change some road signs,

  • work of patrols in enhanced mode.

The Patrol Police Department will tell you more about the changes. We will definitely announce all the innovations in detail, which I am convinced will help prevent a transport collapse in the capital.

Closure of metro stations in Kyiv

On 8 December, an emergency occurred in Kyiv in the tunnel on the blue line of the metro between Teremky and Demiivska stations.

Trains are running between Heroiv Dnipra and Lybidska stations. Ground transport routes have been launched.

According to preliminary estimates, the restoration work may take up to 6 months and will be carried out on the surface.

The Prosecutor's Office has already launched an investigation into the negligence in connection with the depressurisation of the tunnel at Demiivska metro station in Kyiv.

Watch: Ukrainian F-16 pilot reveals combat features for the first time

Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Ukrainian F-16

On March 26, the Air Force released the first interview with a Ukrainian F-16 fighter pilot, who talks about combat missions, tactics of use, and a powerful team that has successfully mastered Western technology and new approaches to its application.

Points of attention

  • Get a unique perspective from a Ukrainian F-16 fighter pilot on combat missions and tactics in this exclusive interview.
  • Learn about the success rate of Ukrainian forces with Western technology, hitting targets with over 80% accuracy, including various types of missiles.
  • Explore how Ukrainian intelligence forces adapt quickly to receive up-to-date data, ensuring effective strikes at tactical depth.

Almost every missile hits its target — Ukrainian F-16 pilot

The pilot, whose identity is not being disclosed at this time, says that almost every day, F-16 fighter pilots perform more than one or two flights to defeat the enemy behind the line of combat contact, on the territory of the Russian Federation, on the territory temporarily occupied by the Russians. Falcon pilots also perform flights to cover other combat brothers (MiG-29, Su-27, Su-24, Su-25).

The pilot notes that the effectiveness of using Western equipment by Ukrainian soldiers, both ground and air, is very high.

Almost every missile hits its target… More than 80% of the missiles we launch hit their target. They destroy both Shaheds and sea-based, air-based and land-based cruise missiles. We know the targets in advance, our intelligence works quite well, even despite the media spreading the rumor that we don’t receive intelligence data…

We can say that our intelligence forces adapt very quickly, we receive up-to-date data... Currently, we can only strike at tactical depth, but the effectiveness of these strikes is very high: if we want, our bomb will fly into someone's window.

Can NATO defeat Russia without US help — expert analysis

NATO is now much stronger than Russia

In the event of the US withdrawal from the Alliance, NATO countries will still have a powerful military potential that can protect them during a possible war with Russia. Turkey and its decisions in this context can play one of the main roles.

Points of attention

  • Austrian military expert Gustav Gressel's warning about Russia potentially having more soldiers reveals a concerning factor in the scenario of a NATO-Russia conflict.
  • Analysis of the numerical discrepancies in manpower, tanks, fighter jets, and artillery between NATO countries and Russia showcases the Alliance's superiority.

NATO is now much stronger than Russia

What is important to understand is that the armies of NATO member countries number over 2 million soldiers, while the aggressor countries of the Russian Federation currently have half the number of personnel.

As for tanks, the Alliance has about 6,700 of them, and Putin can only use 2,900.

Europeans have over 2,300 fighter jets in service, while Russia has slightly less than 1,400. The quantitative difference is especially large in artillery: European NATO countries have over 15,400 guns at their disposal, while the Russian Federation has 6,090.

Austrian military expert Gustav Gressel made a statement on this matter.

He warned that Russia may have more soldiers than is currently known.

According to experts, in the event of a war between NATO and Russia, Turkey may refuse to participate and provide military assistance due to its proximity to Moscow.

In this case, the Europeans' resources will be significantly reduced, as Turkey provides almost a quarter of the soldiers, over a third of the battle tanks, and almost 18% of the artillery.
