One of the key topics of the World Economic Forum will be the possible spread of a new pandemic, which will be ten times more dangerous than COVID-19.

"Disease X" can provoke a new pandemic

Participants at the Davos forum noted new warnings from the World Health Organization that an unknown "disease X" could lead to 20 times more deaths than the coronavirus pandemic.

What is essential to understand is that "Disease X" is a hypothetical name for an unknown pathogen capable of causing an epidemic or pandemic.

As the head of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci, notes, the "X" in the name stands for "surprise."

According to preliminary data, this issue will be discussed on January 17.

Its participants will be:

  • Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus — Director-General of World Heath Organisation;

  • Shyam Bishen — head of the Center for Health and Healthcare and member of the Executive Committee of the World Economic Forum in Geneva;

  • Roy Jacobs — President and Chief Executive Officer of Royal Philips;

  • Preeta Reddy — Executive Vice-Chairman of Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd;

  • Nicia Trindade Lima — Minister of Health of Brazil;

  • Michel Demare — Chairman of the Board of AstraZeneca Plc;

  • Jamil Edmond Anderlin - editor-in-chief Europe, Politico.

Official Kyiv will ask the American authorities to change the proposed agreement on minerals, since in its current version it is disadvantageous for Ukraine and will harm its accession to the EU.

Points of attention

  • The negotiation process is ongoing, with Kyiv actively pushing for amendments that align with its strategic objectives.
  • The outcome of the negotiations could have significant implications for Ukraine's economic ties with the US and its geopolitical positioning.

The subsoil agreement is still under discussion

According to Bloomberg insiders, the team of Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky will ask the United States to make changes to the new economic agreement proposed by the Donald Trump administration.

First of all, Kyiv wants Washington to promise to increase American investment.

Anonymous sources claim that on March 28, Ukrainian officials held a video call with American colleagues, including lawyers.

This time, the Ukrainian side wanted to hear clarifications regarding the latest draft agreement.

According to another Bloomberg insider, Donald Trump's team did not object to the concerns voiced by Kyiv, especially regarding the potential conflict of the agreement with Ukraine's goals for EU membership.

According to the Ukrainian side, this indicates that the White House may be open to discussing changes.

Former Pentagon consultant names Putin's next target

Putin is preparing to invade NATO
Source:  online.ua

Reuben Johnson, a former U.S. Defense Department consultant and expert on foreign military affairs, sees strong signs that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is mobilizing forces to attack NATO. He knows that the window of opportunity to carry out such a plan is rapidly closing.

Points of attention

  • If NATO fails to respond to a potential Russian invasion, it could severely damage the alliance's authority according to the expert's analysis.
  • Expert predicts that Putin will act swiftly to attack before Russia's financial situation deteriorates further, potentially mirroring the invasion of Crimea in 2014.

Putin is preparing to invade NATO

According to the expert, the illegitimate head of the Kremlin sees NATO's weakness and is also convinced that the current situation in Europe represents a window of opportunity.

Johnson predicts that Putin will make his next move as soon as possible before Russia's financial situation deteriorates completely.

Putin's move would be to attack through the strategically important Suwalki Corridor, which connects Russia's Kaliningrad with Belarus. Putin's rationale and "game plan" for seizing this corridor would be an exact replica of the invasion of Crimea in March 2014, the expert notes.

According to Johnson, the Russian dictator will want to take advantage of the tensions between US President Donald Trump's team and European leaders.

Putin hopes to seize this land bridge and end Kaliningrad's geographical isolation.

This would violate the sovereignty of Estonia, Lithuania and Poland, which are NATO members. If NATO does not respond to a Russian invasion of this kind, Putin could destroy what is left of the alliance's authority, the expert stressed.
