The testing of the new bulletproof vest model lasted three months and took place in two stages. The first stage was for the comfort of wearing by servicewomen. The second was laboratory testing (ballistic, non-ballistic, materials and accessories testing).

Ukrainian women's body armour passes a new stage of testing

The Ministry of Defence has approved the second sample of body armour for female servicewomen. It was developed by Temp-3000.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defence on Facebook.

While the first certified sample from Ukrainian Armour had an outwardly curved armour plate, the Temp-3000 company has equipped the women's vest with damping cushions. They help to adjust the vest to the anatomical features of each woman. In total, the kit includes three pads of different sizes," the statement said.

The weight of the bulletproof vest is 10.5 kg or more, depending on the configuration.

The women's vest has the same ballistic characteristics as the men's.

The tests lasted three months and were conducted in two stages. The first stage was for the comfort of wearing by military personnel. The second was laboratory testing (ballistic, non-ballistic, testing of materials and accessories)," the Ministry of Defence said.

In addition, to protect the groin, the manufacturer has developed an additional bag with a soft ballistic bag.

There are more than 40,000 women serving in the Armed Forces. Our goal is to provide our defenders with bulletproof vests, first and foremost, for servicewomen on the front line. We have already talked to manufacturers. In general, Ukrainian Armour can produce up to 10,000 sets in 60-90 days if ordered in advance, and Temp 3000 can produce 5,000 sets in a month," said Vitaliy Polovenko, Deputy Minister of Defence.

Both models are available for centralised procurement. The Ministry of Defence is waiting for the General Staff to request the purchase of these products. After that, the Ministry of Defence will formulate the volumes and lists for procurement.

The Ukrainian State Logistics Operator will be directly responsible for the procurement of women's bulletproof vests.

Women's bulletproof vest certified for the first time in Ukraine

Ukraine has certified the first bulletproof vest for female servicewomen. The sample was approved after two stages of testing.

This was reported by Oleksandr Sharko, chief specialist of the Central Department for Development and Support of Material Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"Curved armour plate, narrowed shoulders, widened bottom - these are the design features of the first certified bulletproof vest for women soldiers in Ukraine," the Ministry of Defence said.

According to Shark, the sample was approved after two stages of testing. After the first stage of field testing, the vest was modified to take into account the structure of the female body.

"Since women have narrower shoulders and a wider pelvis than men, it was uncomfortable for servicewomen to handle weapons in the 'male' version of the vest," the expert said.

In other respects, the vest, which weighs 10.5 kg or more depending on its size and configuration, does not differ from the previously approved all-military vest.
